This spring has been so cold and wet that only the daffodils seemed to thrive! I can't wait for a little warmth so that all the flowers will grow and bloom.
I suspect that when I move back East I will regularly spend small fortunes at the garden centers to make up for the years in the desert without those cheerful things called flowers.
Yes, there are flowers in the desert, but they aren't cheerful. They're hardy symbols of endurance, not bright lights of hope.
