Our Word View - Ripple

What is Our Word View?  A collaboration between two friends who lost touch over the years but have reconnected online.  We share a love of the ocean, photography, quotes, animals and family.  Often times our photographic interpretations for the word of the week are very similar.

This week the word ripple was chosen for our photographic interpretation.  I hope you will go over to Our Word View and see what Liz shares this week.

My initial thoughts this week were to capture an image of water and the ripples that are sent out when you toss in a rock, skip a stone or just watch the tide roll into the shore.  Well as I built a fire the other evening I noticed the beautiful leaves on my african violet plants.  I have three plants that were a gift to me after my dad passed away almost 5 years ago.  One plant in particular has lovely rippled leaves.  I just love how they look.

Along the walk through Ellisville State Park there is this stone home.  It is certainly quaint.  I love the yard art displayed in front of the home.  It is an unexpected find in the middle of a woodsy area.

Sometimes I just wonder what my beautiful girl is thinking.  I love these candid shots I took of her a few summers ago.

Our Word View - Outstanding

What is Our Word View?  A collaboration between two friends who lost touch over the years but have reconnected online.  We share a love of the ocean, photography, quotes, animals and family.  Often times our photographic interpretations for the word of the week are very similar.

This week the word outstanding was chosen for our photographic interpretation.  I hope you will go over to Our Word View and see what Liz shares this week.

The following series of images were taken of the sun setting through the trees next to my home.  I think they are an outstanding example of the simple beauty you can capture through a camera's lens.  They are especially poignant for me this week as the sun has set for the last time for not only my uncle who lived a long blessed life but also for the husband of a dear colleague who was taken from his family far too soon.   While sunsets are outstandingly beautiful they remind me that to every day there is an end.   It is so important to cherish all the moments in between the rise and setting of the sun.

Peace!
