August Break 8/31/10 - Remembering Ma

It's been 10 years since you left us, beautiful Anita.  You were more than a mother in law and grandmother to our children; you were my friend.  We speak of you often and share funny stories so that we can all remember.  You are always in our hearts.

Peace!

1. Laughter is the best medicine.

4. My children's antics puts a smile on my face.

5. Where in the world will I find the strength and cash to fix up 40 Mayflower?

6. A couple of cool rainy days will be just what I needed!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to bed early I'm tired, tomorrow my plans include maybe a walk to the beach and the rest will just go with the flo and Sunday, I want to console R as it is his last day of vacation!

Woman's Daybook

Those who would like are welcome to participate may add their link  to  Simple Woman's linky page.  I think it will be nice to have a specific writing task once a week and will augment my August Break series for the rest of the month.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...I see that darkness has fallen.  The lazy days of summer are swiftly coming to an end.

I am thinking...about my Dad's birthday tomorrow.  He would have been 76 years old.  Somedays I still can't believe he has been gone since December.  This fall will be difficult.  It will be a time of remembering.  In honor of Dad's birthday I have created a slideshow set to music that I will post tomorrow.  how fortunate I am to have wonderful children.  These children of mine are working on responsibility.

I am thankful for...the next few weeks to relax and prepare for the business of a new school year.

From the kitchen...not much from the kitchen lately!  It has been very muggy and warm and quite honestly I have not been in the mood to cook!

I am wearing...my regular 'uniform' of sorts.  I have gray cropped pants on and a navy blue t shirt.  Today I am wearing makeup and my jewelry as I had a meeting this am.

I am creating...a tribute to a great man.

I am going...to focus on the positive and try to reflect the positive I see in others.

I am reading...True Compass and The Gift, still.

I am hoping...that tomorrow will be a comfortable, bright, sunshiny day.

I am hearing...the fan whirring, the tv talking, and the peepers peeping...music to my ears

Around the house...there is much to do....as always, clothes to list on ebay, floors to sweep and mop, dishes to put away, papers to file.  around the house never ends

One of my favorite things...time at home with family.

A few plans for the rest of the week:  dentist with N again,  hopefully a trip to the zoo,  time on the beach,  hanging out with my bestie C... I hope!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
