Are You Interested?

For anyone interested in following the story of the renovation of my family home; I have begun a new blog dedicated to the story of 40 M.  I am working from the beginning to the present if that makes any sense.  It works for me.  I think it is important to know some of the stories behind the house.  The stories make it the house that built me.  You can find them and me here and there!

By the way.... this song gets me every time I listen.....

Peace!

Simple Woman's Dayboook

Outside my window...I see the dappled sunlight kissing the frosty white snow that blankets our back woods.

I am thinking...that I love being on vacation, even when my kiddos aren't feeling that great.  Colds abound in this house, unfortunately.

I am thankful for...my godmother F who will be 79 years old this year.  She was a pleasure to spend Christmas with and we all enjoyed her company.  The children spent a good deal of time having lengthy conversations with her this year.  I could really see how much they have matured.  Watching them with F makes me miss my Mum and MIL all that much more.  I am thankful and blessed however to have F in my life!

From the kitchen...I have leftover Christmas treats spilling out of my bread bowl and my fruit bowl.  It seems they multiply every time I leave the room.  As much as I love all the yummy foods I am looking forward to getting back to a regular meal/eating routine!  (never thought I'd say that!)  BTW the bullseye batter that was waiting to be rolled and dipped got the royal treatment.  We now have dozens of PB bullseyes in the freezer!

I am wearing...my new PJ's from F!  They are a dark purple and the top has snap closures.  The snaps are pearlized white and remind me of a green plaid shirt I had when I was a teenager.  I loved that shirt.  Isn't it funny what pops into your head sometimes.  Oh and on my feet I am wearing the new slippers that R and the kids gave me as one of my gifts.  They are exactly like my old black slippers that I loved but they are in a lovely dark camel color.

I am creating...thank you cards for the kiddos in my classes as well as for family.  I am also working on the website Winkflash to create a logo to go on the back of any cards I create on their site.

I am going...to insist on more resting today even though N and n want to go out and spend their gift cards today.  n is supposed to go to a birthday party on Friday.  I hope she feels well enough to attend.  It is at a jumpy house play space.  Not my cup of tea but I'm sure the kids will have a blast.  We'll see.

I am reading...Guardians of Ga'Hoole.  I have not read much over the past several days.  Hopefully I'll make time to read today.  I also downloaded a free kindle ap for my computer as well as the Anne Frank Diary.  I am not sure I like reading a book off of the computer.  We'll see.

I am hoping...that I can work on the design of the kitchen over at 40 M.  I need to get on that project.  I think fear is holding me back.  I'll try to let go of  the fear and just do it.  We'll see.  I'll let you know how it goes.

I am hearing...sounds of large vehicles drive down our street,  fuel trucks most likely.  I also hear the remnants of the wind from the blizzard conditions we had yesterday and the day before.  n's computer is quietly playing in the background.  Mostly though it is quiet except for the tap, tap tapping of the keyboard.  I love that sound.

Around the house...I see Christmas!

One of my favorite things...is to sit quietly and listen.

A few plans for the rest of the week: we'll need to get out and pick up a gift for n's friend, we have a signing to attend on Friday, rest and relaxation would sum up the week! Oh and a visit with L and her children if she is up for the risk of infection from the cold germs.  I have a feeling that she might pass.  We'll see.  I'll have to email her.

Here is picture I am sharing..

Mellow Yellow Monday

MellowYellowMondayBadge

This bouquet of flowers was a gift for 'n'.  I gave them to her in honor of her first concert with the band.  She was beyond thrilled and just loved them!  On Christmas Eve she spent some time taking close up photos of these lovely flowers.  Rather than pressing them in a book, as women of my Mum's era would do, she now has a digital image to keep forever!

Peace!
