So I've been spending a good deal of time lately visiting teaching blogs. It's been interesting to say the least. I have found many progressive early childhood blogs based in Australia. There are also quite a few that I enjoy that are based here in the United States. One such blog is Polliwog on Safari. The author of this blog turns out to be a former colleague. We worked at the same school many years ago before either of us started our families. I remember back then she was very much a hands on teacher who enjoyed facilitating experiential learning for her class. As evidenced in her blogs things have not changed much with the exception that she is creating learning experiences and opportunities for her own children and also sharing those ideas with her readers. I was pleasantly surprised when I came upon her blog a few months ago! She is celebrating the 1 year anniversary of her blog with a contest. If you have any interest in science and the natural world and how to incorporate those things into your daily teaching and living practice please visit Polliwog on Safari.
Peace!
