The story of lilac, according to Greek mythology, begins with a beautiful nymph named Syringa (lilac’s botanical name). Captivated by her beauty, Pan, the god of the forests and fields, chased Syringa through the forest. Frightened by Pan’s affections, Syringa escaped him by turning herself into an aromatic bush – the flower we now refer to as lilac.
First I tweaked the levels, next I added stained linen on multiply 70%, with a mask I removed some of the texture from the flowers. I added subtly yours in the exact same way including a mask. Then I played with some text. I've been enjoying the font chalkduster and I like my text on the subtle side. Finally I finished off the image with a layer of silence on soft light 83%.
I really wanted to add the entire story of the lilac as an overlay but didn't like the effect. If I had a different handwriting font I might have used all the text. In any event I do like the final image.
Peace!

Lilacs are my favorite flower - and the textures and editing you added just made the picture yummier!
Beautiful texture and text here... :)
Very pretty image, and I love the story behind the lilacs! Thank you for adding that to the post even if it didn't work on the image itself.
