So here I am happily checking out my blogger friends when I come to Alicia's post about signing up to remember the victims of 9/11. I remember reading her post last year. I also remember exactly what I was doing on that fateful morning. In the past I have posted on 9/11 and reflected on that day. After checking out the Project 2,996 site I have decided to sign up to honor the life of one of the victims of 9/11. I'm looking forward to receiving my name and researching and writing a memorial. 687 bloggers have signed up to remember. I hope you will join us in creating a post that will honor those who lost their lives on that fateful day.
Peace!

Oh, what a great post and a great idea! I had chills reading this! I remember that day as if it were yesterday! I was teaching in Toronto when the teacher in the classroom next to mine started screaming! He told me what had happened to the Twin Towers and I just froze. I didn't think it was real. I was in shock. All I could think about was my family who live and work in the area.
Thank you for sharing Project 2,996 with us.
Thanks C. I'm looking forward to doing something concrete to honor the people and the day. I'm happy to spread the word. It does seem like yesterday. My children were so little just 3 and 1. They were playing and I was watching the Today show and saw the entire thing unfold before my eyes. It sent my world spinning for sure! I hope we never have another attack here on our land.
"I hope we never have another attack here on our land."
Oh, I agree with you! I hope it never happens again. How terrifying and absolutely dizzying. Never have I felt more vulnerable. I know it didn't happen to Canada, but the U.S. is our neighbour. I think the thought of anything like that happening so close to home and to the U.S. just made me feel all that more fearful.
I'm getting shivers just revisiting the memory of seeing the whole thing unfold before my eyes when I first saw it on TV.
Thinking about the memories gives me the chills too. I have to tell you C that I received the name of the person to whom I'll be paying tribute. The interesting thin is that this individuals name is my Dads name turned around. I'll take it as a sign that I need to do a good job. I better get writing. :)
