Our Word View - Miracle

What is Our Word View?  A collaboration between two friends who lost touch over the years but have reconnected online.  We share a love of the ocean, photography, quotes, animals and family.  Often times our photographic interpretations for the word of the week are very similar.

This week  the word miracle  was chosen for our photographic interpretation.  I hope you will go over to Our Word View and see what Liz shares this week. She surprised me with her picture for this week!

So the word miracle brings to mind many things.  My immediate thoughts go to the birth of my children.  The thought of growing another being inside your body and then birthing that unique being into this word leaves me awestruck as miracles do...  It is hard for me to believe my miracles have been here with me for 12 and 14 years.  While I would love to share pictures from their birth I will spare them and you that indulgence.  As I continued to think about the word miracle my mind went to nature.  On a walk last week n and I noticed the crocus that began to bloom by the beach.  Even after harsh snow storms and significant ocean spray the tiny crocus plant survived.  I am amazed on a daily basis by the miraculous beauty of nature.  Each evening I am blown away by the setting sun.  The light spills through our kitchen door.  I often think 'Oh I should take some photos.' but life gets in my way.  Today however was different.  With camera in hand I headed outside hoping to capture the plants just emerging through the newly thawed ground.  Much to my delight the sun began to set and I was at the right place at the right time.  What do you think?

Our Word View - Luminous

What is Our Word View?  A collaboration between two friends who lost touch over the years but have reconnected online.  We share a love of the ocean, photography, quotes, animals and family.  Often times our photographic interpretations for the word of the week are very similar.

This week  the word luminous was chosen for our photographic interpretation.  I hope you will go over to Our Word View and see what Liz shares this week.

I was in the right place at the right time to capture the luminosity of the rising sun through the fog that enveloped the landscape.  It was a heaven sent moment.  The light was incredible and I remember how quiet the environment was at that moment.  I was headed into work but I could not pass up the opportunity to capture this beauty with my lens.  I have this particular picture on canvas and framed in my home.  When you witness such beauty there is no question that there is a power greater than us in this world.

Peace!

Daybook

Outside my window...it is bright...patches of snow remain on the ground with the prediction of more snow today and tonight.

I am thinking...that everyone will rejoice once spring truly begins here in the northeast!

I am thankful for...having a couple of hours in the morning before work to do with as I wish!

From the kitchen...last night we had teriyaki chicken from the crock pot, tonight we'll have homemade pizza and we will see what Friday will bring.

I am creating...fun digital pics with my bamboo tablet. It is awesome!

I am going...to try to clean one room each morning before school.  Not my favorite task but with some organization it won't be too bad.  Right?

I am wondering...what medium circle will be like this weekend.

I am reading...nothing at the moment.  I miss reading.  Time to find a new book.

I am looking forward to... warm weather and going to Ulta this weekend to pick up some beauty supplies.

I am learning...to meditate.  I would like to make it a daily practice.

Around the house...things are in need of repair.  Big plans for repairs and redos over summer vacation. Thinking of changing up the color palette around here from blue to.....

A favorite quote for today...from my bil WD  "Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can."

One of my favorite things ... knowing that Flicka loves me best!(is that bad?)

A few plans for the rest of the week: working on getting ahead in my mrspagnottiflipsformath lessons, going out with n over the weekend, medium circle Saturday, planning for school next week!

Our Word View - KITE

What is Our Word View?  A collaboration between two friends who lost touch over the years but have reconnected online.  We share a love of the ocean, photography, quotes, animals and family.  Often times our photographic interpretations for the word of the week are very similar.

This week  the word kite was chosen for our photographic interpretation.  I hope you will go over to Our Word View and see what Liz shares this week.

This was a difficult word for me!  Sadly, I don't have any kite pics in my large stash of photos so my first thought was to get out today and find some kids flying kites at the park or at the beach.  Well that did not work out.  n and I spent the day out and about and kites were not on our agenda.  So my next thought was to go in a completely different direction for the word kite that harkened back to my banking days!  I quickly let that idea go.  My final plan included using one of my many beach pictures and photoshop to create my own kite picture.  I love it!

Our Word View - Jazzy!

What is Our Word View?  A collaboration between two friends who lost touch over the years but have reconnected online.  We share a love of the ocean, photography, quotes, animals and family.  Often times our photographic interpretations for the word of the week are very similar.

This week  the word jazzy was chosen for our photographic interpretation.  I hope you will go over to Our Word View and see what Liz shares this week.

The word jazzy immediately brings my daughter to mind.  She is a musician.  Her instrument of choice is the saxophone.  She has tried her hand at the drums and dabbled a bit on the keyboard.  She also loves to sing.  She is very humble about her talent.  She is not only jazzy in a musical sense of this word but also in her fashion sense.  She has a unique and interesting sense of style that she is proud to share.  I just love my girl.

Daybook

Outside my window...it is gray and wet.  We have geared up for another storm here on the east coast.

I am thinking...that this might be our last storm of the season.   Fingers crossed!

I am thankful for...all the angels in my life!

From the kitchen...last night we had homemade tacos/nachos!  I never make this meal but upon a request from my oldest I did and was happily surprised by a very yummy dish!

I am creating...a plan so that I can be organized and ready for my observation at school.

I am going...to be preparing 40 M for it's new tenants!

I am wondering...what the High School open house will entail tonight.  I can't believe N will be in high school next year.

I am reading...a couple of Kindle books on angels.  Very interesting.

I am looking forward to... SPRING.

I am learning...to be more up front about what I want... if you put it out there in a positive way it will come to you.

Around the house...things are messy....story of my life!

A favorite quote for today...

One of my favorite things ... unexpected days off from school! (fingers crossed)

A few plans for the rest of the week: First Steps training, working on getting ahead in my mrspagnottiflipsformath lessons, prepping 40M for new tenants!!!!, hopefully going out with n over the weekend, picking up a medicine/exercise  ball for N

Happy Birthday

Well today is my birthday!  For many years after my Mum passed away this day was extremely difficult for me to get through!  I miss her every day but even more so on my birthday.  I guess I understand why my Dad used to say that it was just another day.  I get that.  Even so a birthday should be celebrated and honored.  Today has been a good day.  My children and husband wished me 'Happy Birthday' first thing this morning.   My best friend called and sang to me before work.  They announced my birthday at school so I had many birthday wishes throughout the day.  I even had an entire 2nd grade class sing to me!  Many even gave birthday hugs.  Tonight we will order from a local Thai restaurant.  It will be relaxed and wonderful.  This weekend I'll bake up my favorite lemon ricotta cake and we'll have cake with whipped cream and raspberry sauce.  I am truly blessed.

Peace!

Texture Tuesday on Friday! Dreamy

So it has been quite some time since I've participated in Texture Tuesday.  I planned on posting on Tuesday but it just did not happen.  This week Kim asked participants to share their dreamy photos including at least one of her KK layers.

I find myself dreaming of summer during this time of year.  February and March are the longest months of the year for me!  They drag on and on.  Typically it's not cold enough for snow and not warm enough for flowers.  I find myself day dreaming of long walks by the ocean.  I can't wait for warmer days and comfortable beach walks.

Here are some lovelies that I created using Kim's Laura texture.  Each image has two layers of Laura set on varying percentages of soft light.

Peace!
