Our Word View - Valor

What is Our Word View?  A collaboration between two friends who lost touch over the years but have reconnected online.  We share a love of the ocean, photography, quotes, animals and family.  Often times our photographic interpretations for the word of the week are very similar.

This week the word valor was chosen for our photographic interpretation.  I hope you will go over to Our Word View and see what Liz shares this week.

Years ago I joined N's 4th grade class on a field trip to view the traveling Vietnam Memorial wall that was visiting our home town.  It was an enormously moving experience.  I remember having a conversation with my Dad about the wall before the field trip.  He shared with me a story about an old school chum that died during the war.  I had never heard the story before.  I have always felt a strong connection to service men and women.  Finding my Dad's friend's name on the moving wall was very special.  N and I gave Dad a rubbing of his friend's name.  The valor that soldiers posses is amazing.  They protect our freedom and liberties without a second thought.  How appropriate that valor would be chosen for Memorial Day weekend.  I am so thankful for the sacrifice of the men and women who serve our country.

Our Word View - Useful

I find it fascinating that people randomly discard items that were once useful in their lives.  On a walk through Ellisville State Park last year n and I came across many items that at one time must have been useful.  These items were abandoned in the woods along the trail to the beach.  These images make me think about what our society might look like if people were to suddenly  vanish.  It is certainly is a strange thought.

Our Word View - Thrive

These pictures show the beauty that I enjoy on the side of my yard each year.  Twenty years ago my husband's grandmother came to the house with several scrawny plants that she claimed would grow large and beautiful.  She directed us as to where we should plant them and put R to work digging holes, adding fertilizer and finally placing the plants.  I remember on of the bushes began humbly as a stick!  Now the three bushes grace the east side of the yard with gorgeous foliage and flowers each year.  No matter how or when we trim they remain strong and robust.

Our Word View - STILL

What is Our Word View?  A collaboration between two friends who lost touch over the years but have reconnected online.  We share a love of the ocean, photography, quotes, animals and family.  Often times our photographic interpretations for the word of the week are very similar.

This week the word still was chosen for our photographic interpretation.  I hope you will go over to Our Word View and see what Liz shares this week.

There is something so beautifully peaceful about walking through the woods.  When you stand and listen everything is still and calm.  It is good for the soul to be still with nature.  After a visit to the woods or the ocean I always feel recharged and ready to face the world.

Peace!
