A Quick Bit of Business

So yesterday as I was posting I thought about the pay it forward project and meant to talk about it but in my tired state I forgot!!!

So I have two completed sets of handmade cards ready to go out to Alicia from Forever Changed and Kyra at This Mom. These packages have been ready since the end of February vacation but with school and then being sick I have yet to send them along! So my goal is to send them out this weekend. Hopefully life won't get in the way:)

I really enjoyed spending time creating these cards. Each one is a unique wax mono print. I chose to make a set of four prints in cool colors and then four prints in warm tones. I hope that Alicia and Kyra will like them. Once I know they have received the cards I'll post a couple of pictures of similar pieces that I have made. I don't want to ruin their surprise.

Take care everyone!

Peace!

Conversation About Education

So I was going to talk about this in my last post but then I decided to dedicate a separate entry to my exciting Stand for Children news! We are having an in district meeting, which just means that the local legislative delegation is coming to meet with it's constituents in their home town so to speak. The Senate President just happens to be a part of our legislative team and she has agreed to come in person to our evening event! She receives hundreds of invites and she has agreed to attend our event. This is very exciting. I'm hoping we will have a packed venue!

Now I'm off to my couch for more rest and recuperation!

Peace!

The FLU!

So you are not going to believe this but I have been home on the coach since last Saturday with what seems to be some incarnation of the FLU!!!! All I can say is that you know you are sick when the coffee you love tastes like swamp water in the morning. The whole thing started with an irritation in my upper respiratory tract only to move on to a raging headache, body aches, chills and hot flashes, not to mention the worst cough on the planet! I went to the doctor on Monday. Luckily I had a previously scheduled yearly check up planned so I didn't have to scramble to get an appointment. Mind you I haven't been to a doctor in at least a year so I had to step on the dreaded scale! I was horrified by what I saw! According to the numbers on the scale I am in big trouble. Once I am well I am going to have to make a concerted effort to change my eating and exercise habits. I'm not looking forward to it but I have to so I can be healthy for my family. To add insult to injury I found out that I will need to schedule a colonoscopy within the next few months due to family history. YUCK!

I can't remember the last time I was out of work sick for an entire week. I feel like such a slacker even though I know I would not be able to teach effectively feeling the way I feel.
I have to say that the directors at school are very supportive. I just wish they had more people on staff to cover in such situations.

Hope all of you are staying healthy.

Peace
